From Vienna 1996 with a few interruptions till Reykjavik 2008 I met Jerry at AIEP-conferences. After I had get accustomed to his way of being present, I enjoyed his company very much. One could not miss him, his voice, his statements at-dictation-speed, his raised finger, the way he planted his rich CV-in-short as a banner before putting his question or remark. We talked a lot, we laughed a lot, we had wonderful meetings.
I remember Jerry as a generous man, always helping, informing, showing you the way even if you knew it already. A born president, whose authority was not sufficiently recognised at the election of Zaragoza 1997. Three years later, Prague 2000, when the suddenly shepherdless flock of attendants was desperately searching for a leader, Jerry proved his generosity and his feeling of responsability by finally giving in to our urgent and repeated demands. He appeared to be the president we had always looked for, motivated, active, representative, communicative.
We will remember Jeremiah Healy III as an outstanding member of our association.
I express my condolences to his wife Sandy.
